Day 53 – 300 Steps to Greatness

Standard

From my private conversations with many of you, I know these are challenging times.

I never want to mislead or deceive you that the path to greatness is filled with “happy, happy, joy, joy” because it is not.

Just as in a pregnancy, there are good days and bad days. There are incredibly euphoric highs and emotionally debilitating, sometimes crippling lows.

If you are experiencing any of these, it means you are progressing, you are moving.

Even when it doesn’t feel like it, the fact that you continue to FEEL is enough for some days.

So, if you are feeling overwhelmed today, allow yourself a day off. Yes, take a day off and enjoy some time with YOU! Listen to your heart and figure out what will make you happy.

The key is not to stay STUCK where you are. Believe me, on the days of my proudest accomplishments, I was simultaneously dealing with “life”.

While interviewing on the Red Carpet, “life” called and threatened to steal my joy.

When I was promoted to a producer “life” called and I ended up in the hospital for a week, the day I started my new job.

When I was about to close a major movie deal “life” called and a close family member was hospitalized for six months.
Life calls every day that we live. Don’t stop living, even when “life” calls.

Know that you are not alone. Know that while you can always point to someone who you aspire to be – there is also someone aspiring to be you!

On the days that you feel like leading the least, reach back and give the most.

And if you ever need a quick pick me up, let me know. Because each time we pick another person up, we get lifted higher.

I am grateful to each of you who read, comment and share this blog.

You inspire me, you motivate me and continue to be a driving force in my life.

I appreciate you more than words can express!

“Don’t let the day to day get in the way of your day today!”

  1. I’m all about people taking days off when needed. If anything important needs to be done, more then likely people are available to remote working. I’d rather have a happy employee around me then a stressed out unhappy one. The energy of the office is important. I think Google and Zappos (more Zappos) has set up a very successful working environment. I wish more companies would follow suit.
At the “end” of the day, we need to take care of ourselves first, that should be priority over a job. The universe will supply our needs if we just relax and live accordingly.
Really well written post. I applaud.

  2. Of course I agree wholeheartedly with this post! And I thank you for it.

My goal for the day was to just get through it. I did, thank God, get through it and did much more. I got some writing done! It felt great to be working on my story. I visited family, helped a friend out, AND got through my work day in one piece!
    Pretty good Tuesday….

Hope everyone had an awesome day! If not, try again tomorrow…

Oh, TWC, great job posting via blackberry… little computer issues will not stop greatness!
