305 days left in 2011.
If you still haven’t decided what steps you need to take in order to make this your best year ever, here’s a suggestion.
Meditate on this phrase:
Today I will ignore what should be ignored, address what should be addressed & trust in God to show me how 2 proceed in ALL things!
I often speak about letting the day to day get in the way of our day. Life happens. We all have responsibilities that sometimes weigh more heavily on us than others. Those of us who are parents are constantly walking the tightrope – a balancing act, between trying to develop our children into whole, responsible human beings while still growing, learning and developing into what we were created to be.
You are not alone.
I’m climbing that mountain with you. No matter what your challenge is. If you have money concerns, relationship concerns, family concerns. If you wonder whether or not you are doing your best or falling short, I’m there with you as well.
When I was younger, I went rock climbing. It’s amazing that as children we eagerly seek out challenges and new adventures and then as adults, once we have been taught fear, once we have felt the sting of rejection, hurt and disappointment, our outlook changes.
I want you to know that as you climb this mountain of life, that you will slide backwards from time to time. You will encounter rocky times. But, you will NEVER reach the top if you sit down every time you slide back. When you feel yourself sliding back, reach out for the hand of the person in front of you. If they are too far in front, sit down and regroup. If you are out in front, reach back to help someone climbing that mountain so that you are not walking alone.
The Bible says to whom much is given, much is required. Greatness will come at a great price. It’s not all laughs and giggles and sometimes, life really kicks us in the gut. But, when that happens, catch your breathe and get back up again. Even if you need to rise slowly, in spite of the pain.
Today, I have to sift through five hours of interviews with the incredible women of “Love and Hip Hop”. I will share what I can when I can, but, trust me on this – they are REAL women just like you and I and they each have a story to tell that is worth hearing.
If you can, please join me at 8pm EST LIVE when I interview Connie Chris aka Mz. Berry from Ray J of Love. We will talk about the world of reality tv, her life before and after the show and what she’s up to now.
Please take some time to smile at another person today. Ask them how they are and MEAN it. Listen to their response with an ear & heart to help. Nothing removes disappointment quicker than the joy of lending a helping hand. It truly is greater to give than receive.
“Are we gonna let the elevator bring us down? OH NO!”
