I’m SUPER excited – I have so much to share with you, including the cover of my book.
The first installment of the e-book series “Opening Doors”, will be released Midnight, January 31.
It doesn’t matter if you want to publish your first book, pursue a career in entertainment, start your own business or advance in your current career, who you know plays a vital role in your success.
“Getting Connected” provides true stories based on my personal experiences on how to meet the key people you want to know.
You can pre-order “Getting Connected” at the website I designed (yup!) www.openingdoorsbook.com. The first 100 book orders will get a FREE “Hot Sheet”, which will include information about how to become a blogger, a radio show host, how to publish an e-book and ways to research the best people for you to connect with. You can pre-order NOW for just $4.99 per e-book. I’m also producing it as a .pdf, so don’t fret if you don’t have Kindle, Nook or any other book reader – none necessary 🙂
Although it seems like I just made the decision to write an e-book and went full speed ahead, it’s been a long process. For the past year I have been educating myself about the self-publishing process and comparing the various methods.
Here’s some of what I’ve learned:
www.wix.com – I’ve blogged about this before, they offer free flash websites with built in templates that are pretty easy to follow, once you get the hang of it. They have video tutorials and you can import your own music, photos, etc. to personalize the site. If the site has a downside, it would be that it takes slightly longer to load because it is a flash site – but, it works just fine for me!
http://www.thesitewizard.com/archive/ebookpublishing.shtml – This gives you a simple overview of e-book publishing and explains the basics of the process.
http://hubpages.com/hub/ProsCons-of-publishing-an-Ebook-vs-a-paper-book – Discusses the pros and cons of e-books vs paper books and may help you decide which option is best for you.
http://workingwritersandbloggers.com/2011/01/17/6-ways-to-promote-your-e-book/ – Ways to promote your e-book.
http://www.publicdomainpictures.net/ – I created my own cover for the book using images from this site. They are royalty free – which means I don’t have to pay the artist a royalty from the sales of my book!
Also, today I am interviewing Jeff Rivera, a book publishing executive so make sure you tune into “Musings Of A Muse” tomorrow for his HUGE announcement which will help anyone who wants to get a book published 🙂 You can find out more about Jeff here: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/jeff-rivera
The link for the show is: http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thatwritingchic/2011/01/29/jeff-rivera
My goals for today: Complete interview, write articles and complete show promo for tomorrow. And if I have time…tweek a few things on the book website 🙂
Hope this finds you well and that you each of you DECIDE NOW to have an AWESOME day.
