When I started this initiative, I had no idea that I would REALLY be able to do as much as I have to date.
Blogging this journey regularly has really helped me be able to track my progress on a regular basis, but, more importantly has enabled me to re-focus and prioritize when necessary.
Today I have an article to finish, and an interview for another article. My main challenge is that school is closed today and my son already thinks I LIVE on the computer and “work all the time”! I’m pretty sure that means ordering pizza and watching a movie sometime today 🙂
I’m very excited about the “Opening Doors” project and am so eager to share it with you. Yesterday I did more work on the website, acquired the domain name and edited AGAIN. A few times I stopped and wondered if I REALLY know what I’m doing.
For the longest time people have asked about my writing. I have a friend who read something I wrote many years ago and keeps asking when is that book going to be finished – lol!
Ironically, the first set of books I plan to publish are designed to help other people, based on my experiences.
If you decide to write a book, set up a blog, here’s the best piece of advice I can give you:
WRITE WHAT YOU KNOW AND HAVE LIVED!
Don’t try to be a subject matter expert or creator of something that you don’t know about.
Writing what you know and have lived adds credibility, which is very critical when establishing a platform of followers. I could not convincingly blog about 300 Steps to Greatness if I were not taking them myself.
Take a few minutes today and think about what you know and what you have lived. You may not ever write about it, but, I promise you, there is a way creatively to take your life to the next level once you take inventory of what you have to offer. No matter what it is, there is value. Tap into the value of YOU!
Have an awesome day 🙂
